This approach is said to help students to develop into effective and lifelong readers. This study examines the applicability of the reading workshop to the EFL reading classrooms. The classroom study was implemented in a Japanese senior high school. The results indicate that the students read more books, and that their reading speed increased significantly. However, some advantages of reading workshop approach remain to be examined.},
