 note = {This study investigated the structure of "partial understanding"and "understanding" from the perspective of L.S. Vygotsky. This paper discusses the theories of Russian formalists, paying particular attention to the work of L.P. Jakubinskij as a precursor to Vygotsky's semiotics. Jakubinskij's framework of "dialogue" and "monologue" influenced Vygotsky's ideas of "development"; dialogue refers to the semiotic interaction form "in" a context, and monologue refers to the interaction form "between" contexts. The structure of understanding is thus interpreted as the capacity of speakers that enables communications beyond the boundaries of exclusive contexts gained through "zones of proximal development”.},
